If you want to upgrade to the latest version, you can follow our dedicated article on how to upgrade from OS X to macOS Sierra via direct download. # Update: OS X El Capitan is no longer the latest version of OS X / macOS available on the App Store.
OS X El Capitan įirst, download the El Capitan package (.pkg) file from the Apple server using a suitable download manager. Using a download manager like Folx, the setup package was downloaded within 5 hours on the same connection. Note: On Mac App Store, the estimated download time was around 15 hours on a 2 Mbps connection. The only thing you have skipped here is the annoying download interruptions and slow download speeds. The end result is the same as you would get if you had downloaded OS X El Capitan directly from MAS. We’ll then configure the system in such a way that the MAS downloads and installs the new version of OS X from the locally downloaded raw package, instead of the one available on the Apple server. This will accelerate the download speed, and reduce the risk of download error at the same time. In this workaround, we’ll be downloading the raw package directly from the Apple server using a suitable download manager. While downloading the package, MAS processes and converts it into an executable (.app) file, which can then be installed on your Mac. This raw file is not installable on its own. When you download OS X El Capitan using the Mac App Store, a raw package (.pkg) file is downloaded from the Apple server.
but it's just no going to is it? Too many intermittent crashes. I can sense that the S/W wants to run on the AMD D5oo cards. been absorbing the tutorials like a hungry bear! I'll never watch another animated film the same way again
just getting started in the 3ds world and it's fantastic. answers my underlying question as to why Max (17) is running so unstable in Bootcamp! I have to say I'm bummed.
If you need a 3D software that is fully compatible with a Mac, I recommend Maya. You may still be able to get Max to work, but you may run into problems that cannot be solved by members of technical support. That being said, Win 7 is better than Win 8 in my opinion for this. I don't recommend using 3ds Max on a Mac. Hello of the Mac graphics cards do not meet the certification requirements for 3ds Max and none (or very few) have passed certification testing in a while now.
